TOKIO Inkarami has been selected as the title and sole sponsor of the "TeamLab Toji: Festival of Light".

- Kyoto Toji Temple (Kyo-o Gokokuji Temple) - the head temple of the Shingon Sect of Buddhism

To-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site, was founded in 796. It was built together with Sai-ji Temple across from Rajomon Gate, the main gate of Heian-kyo, when the capital was relocated to Heian-kyo in 796. The five-story pagoda, the tallest wooden pagoda in Japan and a National Treasure, is the only remaining structure of Heian-kyo in the modern era, some 1,200 years after its construction.
It was the first esoteric Buddhism temple in Japan and the head temple of the Shingon sect of Buddhism, since it became the fundamental center of Shingon esoteric Buddhism by Kobo-Daishi Kukai, who studied the new Buddhism and esoteric Buddhism in Tang China and returned to Japan. Its official name is "Konkomyo Shitenno Kyo-o Gokokuji Secret Denpoin" (Secret Denpoin).

TeamLab is engaged in an art project called "Digitized City. This is a project in which digital technology, which is immaterial, is used to transform buildings and places into art without physically changing them at all.

The space of the artwork becomes the space of a long time, and the space of the artwork is interactively transformed by the wind and rain in nature and the behavior of the people in the place, making the people a part of the artwork and a part of nature as well as a part of a long time. This creates a continuity between the work, people and nature, oneself and others, the present and the past, without boundaries.

The space of Toji Temple is transformed by the presence of people and the behavior of nature, turning it into an art space where the present and the past intersect.

The thoughts behind the sponsorship
With the concept of ”bringing Japanese beauty culture to the world,” we are working to “create beauty culture around the world” by fusing two opposing elements such as “technology and nature,” "innovation and tradition," and "strength and beauty," while respecting the balance between the two. We are working to "create beauty culture around the world" by fusing two opposing elements, "technology and nature," "innovation and tradition," and "strength and beauty," and by valuing the balance between the two.
As a part of these activities, we have decided to support TeamLab, a leader in the global art scene, because we share their belief that "the concept of digital extends beauty".
