In 2014, after watching his second brother Ayumu's performance at the Sochi Olympics, he decided to pursue the same snowboarding career at the age of 12.

In 2022, he won a bronze medal at the X-games, an action sports festival, while competing for the first time, and also competed in the Beijing Olympics for the first time.

The 7.4-meter air he recorded in the first jump was reported as "a historic jump that defies the law of gravity. It was reported as "a new world record height" (the world's tallest jump in the halfpipe).
