He started snowboarding at the age of 4 under the influence of his father, and started slopestyle when he was in the first grade of elementary school. Steadily achieving good results in competitions in Japan, he qualified as a professional in Japan as a 4th grader. The following year, he won the World Rookie Finals. In addition to competitions, his backside double cork 1080 became a worldwide sensation when he distributed his video.
In 2018, she won the big air event at the XGames in Norway, the world's most prestigious event, with a backside double cork 1260, an unprecedented feat for a female competitor, at the young age of 13 in a field of top international competitors.
At the 2022 Beijing Olympics, she competed in two events and won a bronze medal in the big air event, breaking Figure Skater Mao Asada's record as the youngest Japanese female Winter Olympics medalist.
In 2023, she will contribute to the development of women's snowboarding by becoming the first woman in history to score 1440 BS in a competition and win back-to-back World Cup titles. 26 years later, she will aim for the top spot at the Milan Olympics.
