At the 2025 X Games Big Air, Ogiwara became the first competitor in the event’s history to land a backside 2340 (six and a half rotations), securing his first victory.
We would like to make an announcement to everyone.
(We held a press conference to announce team assignments on Friday, June 13, 2025.)
■Taiga Hasegawa
Date of Birth: October 23, 2005
Hometown: Iwakura City, Aichi Prefecture
He began snowboarding at age 4 and made his competitive debut at age 8.
He emerged as a promising young athlete during his junior years and won the Big Air event at the 2021 Junior World Championships. Furthermore, he became the first Japanese athlete to win a gold medal in the Big Air event at the 2023 World Championships. He also proved his prowess on the international stage by winning both the Big Air and Slopestyle events at the Junior World Championships that same year.
At the 2024 X Games Big Air event, he won with an overwhelming performance that left the competition in the dust. He has demonstrated consistent strength by winning the 2025 World Cup discipline title (Big Air) and the overall World Cup title.
A particularly noteworthy achievement for Hasegawa is that in September 2023, he became the first person in the world to successfully land a 5½-rotation trick in all four directions—backside, frontside, cab, and switch backside—a feat that sent shockwaves through the snowboarding world.
■Hiroto Ogiwara
Date of Birth: July 19, 2005
Hometown: Ushiku City, Ibaraki Prefecture
Inspired by his parents, he started snowboarding at the age of three and began to show his talent from an early age.
A video of him successfully landing a backside 1080 (a triple rotation) at the age of nine went viral. He then turned pro at the young age of 12 and honed his skills in competitions both in Japan and abroad.
After claiming his first victory at the 2023 World Cup Big Air, he made a major leap forward during the 2024–25 season, securing his second career World Cup win in 2024. At the 2025 X Games Big Air, he became the first competitor in the event’s history to land a backside 2340 (six and a half rotations), winning his first title.
