Explanation of Highlights

The main event of the first RIZIN TRIGGER event of 2022 featured a bout between two fighters with deep ties to Shizuoka: Krebel, who has won three straight fights without a loss since joining RIZIN, and Yuruka, who has won two of his last five fights. Both are grapplers, but Krebel's style is based on jiu-jitsu, while Yuryuka has a wrestling-based grappling style. Krebel, with his lightning-fast kyoketsu, has proven to have a high finishing percentage, and the odds are stacked against Yuryuka. However, the matchups are quite close in terms of chemistry.

Yuruka's style is to use his wrestling ability to apply pressure from the top and develop positions, rather than pounding away to inflict damage, and he is expected to have a high fight IQ and not go along with the guard position, which is Krebel's forte. The key point will be how Yuryuka, who is expected to study the variations of Krebel's techniques, fights without getting caught in Krebel's jiu-jitsu web. Crevel, as he has declared, will be looking to dominate in any situation and appeal for the right to challenge for the RIZIN featherweight title. On the precipice, Yururuka will take advantage of this opportunity to further chaos in the wildly disorganized featherweight division.
